BMW to begin testing BMW M Hybrid V8 with P66/3 engine

Green Car Congress

The combustion engine is based on the DTM unit used in the BMW M4 DTM in 2017 and 2018. The normally-aspirated P66/1 eight-cylinder engine used in the 2017 and 2018 seasons in the BMW M4 DTM was the one that got the nod. The BMW M Hybrid V8 is powered by the P66/3 eight-cylinder turbo engine with supplementary electric drive.

New efficient biphasic catalytic process for conversion of biomass to dense jet-range fuels

Green Car Congress

Chen’s group developed the process to produce alkanes and aromatics in the jet fuel range by microwave-induced pyrolysis of intact biomass (Douglas fir) integrated with hydrotreating upgrading of pyrolysis oil. 1,8-cineole is readily converted to p-menthane, which is a C 10 cycloalkane in the jet fuel range. —Yang et al.
