Peer-to-peer car sharing company Getaround announced its official launch in Austin, Texas. This announcement closely follows the company’s February launch in the greater Portland metropolitan area with a $1.7 million federal grant and expands its reach to four major cities.

According to PlugShare (via good.is), however, Portland, Oregon and Dallas, Texas top the list. Ask most Americans to name the cities with the most public charging stations for electric cars per head of population, and they’ll likely mention Los Angeles and perhaps San Francisco.

Adoption of EVs in the market also has been accelerated by peer-to-peer selling at tech and transportation workplaces such as Texas Instruments and BNSF Railroad.
