Shell to start building Europe’s largest renewable hydrogen plant: Holland Hydrogen I

subsidiaries of Shell plc, have taken the final investment decision to build Holland Hydrogen I, which will be Europe’s largest renewable hydrogen plant once operational in 2025. The 200MW electrolyzer will be constructed on the Tweede Maasvlakte in the port of Rotterdam and will produce up to 60,000 kilograms of renewable hydrogen per day.

Wärtsilä swappable battery containers enabling inland waterway vessels to operate with zero emissions

The first order, comprising three units, was placed by ZES (Zero Emission Services) BV, a Netherlands-based company founded in 2020 by ING Bank, energy and technical service provider Engie, the Port of Rotterdam, and Wärtsilä. When discharged, the containers can be exchanged and charged onshore using energy from renewable sources.
