DG Fuels (DGF), a provider of cellulosic drop-in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), signed a multi-year SAF offtake agreement with Air France KLM for up to 60,408 metric tons (21 million gallons) per year from DGF’s initial plant to be located in Louisiana. DGF’s cellulosic feedstock does not impair food supply and is essentially water neutral.

MIT researchers have demonstrated that an aircraft with a 5-meter wingspan can sustain steady-level flight using ionic-wind propulsion. He expects that in the near-term, such ion wind propulsion systems could be used to fly less noisy drones. The MIT team’s final design resembles a large, lightweight glider. EAD airplane design.

Both sectors have been challenged recently by rising input costs for key materials such as steel and polysilicon, as well as supply chain disruptions and rising financing costs. It also invested $58 billion in new wind projects, up 107% year-on-year.
