This analysis found the following: Commercial Trucks: 76% of the approximately 15 million commercial trucks (Class 3-8) that make up the nation’s fleet run on diesel. Of those, the newest generation of advanced diesel technology models now account for 53% of that fleet. Electric and other categories each register less than 1%.

AJR Trucking , a leading carrier for the United States Postal Service (USPS) and a major drayage carrier operating in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, has executed a purchase order for 50 Nikola Tre hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) trucks from Tom’s Truck Centers, a member of the Nikola Corporation sales and service dealer network.

Canada Post has earmarked $1 billion to cut emissions and transform its fleet. The Corporation will transform its fleet to non-emitting transportation, with commitments to reach a 50% electric fleet by 2030 and 100% by 2040. The compact electric vehicle reaches maximum speeds of 40 km/h.

The BMW Group presented the first BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicles in a pilot fleet that will go into service this year. The fleet of less than 100 vehicles will then be employed internationally for demonstration and trial purposes for various target groups. The pressure plate forms a gas-tight and water-tight seal around the stack housing.

Motiv Power Systems announced a new vehicle order from Cintas for 30 additional advanced zero-emission all-electric delivery vans. A new University of Michigan study finds that making the switch to all-electric mail-delivery vehicles would lead to far greater reductions in greenhouse gas emissions than previously estimated by the US Postal Service (USPS). The Postal Service said in February that at least 10% of the new mail trucks would be electric.
