Mercedes-Benz will be the first German OEM to implement NACS ports into its new electric vehicles starting in 2025. As part of a phased transition, Mercedes-Benz will initially offer an adapter that enables the company’s existing CCS BEVs to charge seamlessly on the NACS network from 2024 onwards. Mercedes-Benz drivers can use Tesla Superchargers in North America starting in 2024.

Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has provided its Thermal Interface Material (TIM) elastomer for use in high-quantity series production of a EV charging port for a well-known car manufacturer. The elastomer, which is heat conductive and electrically insulating at the same time, was first introduced in 2020 with an eye toward applications for charging sockets, control units and batteries in electric cars.
