Phoenix Motor, a manufacturer of all-electric, medium-duty vehicles, and Pegasus Specialty Vehicles, has formed a strategic partnership jointly to develop Type A electric school buses, targeted for the North American market. The agreement targets a minimum of 300 Type A school buses to be built within the next three years, with Phoenix being responsible for providing the electric drivetrain chassis and Pegasus for providing the final vehicle assembly including the body and cab.

Oil giant BP plans to launch a series of large EV fast-charging "Gigahubs" aimed at ride-hailing vehicles. The first of these hubs will be built near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in collaboration with rental-car firm Hertz, and will be funded in part by a $2 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC), BP said in a press.

Lucid has gained EPA approval to launch the sale of several 2023 model-year trims of the Air electric vehicle. Lucid gained Certificates of Conformity for the Air Grand Touring’s 19″, 20″, and 21″ trim levels , which allows the manufacturer to sell the vehicles to consumers. Lucid applied for EPA certification of these vehicles on September 7, and gained a Certificate of Conformity just two days later on September 9.
