MBL begins first test of tropical seaweed farming for biofuels production

A team of researchers led by Loretta Roberson, associate scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, has installed the first seaweed farm in Puerto Rico and US tropical waters. Puerto Rico has stable warm temperatures and ample sunlight year-round, as well as a wide range of exposure to prevailing winds and waves.

Scuderi Group to build and to install LPG-powered split-cycle generator with compressed air storage capability

Republic Services to Deploy 226 Natural Gas Trucks in West

Republic Services, a provider of recycling and solid waste collection, transfer and disposal in the United States and Puerto Rico, announced that 20% of the trucks it is adding to its fleet in 2010 will be powered by natural gas. Beginning in April, the Company will be adding 226 NGV trucks to 10 facilities in its Western region.

Doosan delivers first dual-fuel, low-speed engine to NASSCO shipyard

The Korean engine maker originally won the order to build the ME-GI engines in 2013, since which time the first ME-GI unit has successfully passed through design, manufacture, and test-run stages.
