Aker Solutions wins FEED contract for e-Fuel plant in Norway

Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Nordic Blue Crude (NBC) for front-end engineering and design (FEED) of a new e-Fuel facility at Herøya in Porsgrunn, Norway. It will involve about 50 employees from Aker Solutions, primarily at the company’s headquarters in Fornebu, Norway.

In Norway, Asko begins piloting use of hydrogen fuel-cell trucks

Electricity generated by solar panels installed across nine thousand square metres of roofing at Asko’s regional warehouse is being used to split water, producing emissions-free hydrogen fuel and oxygen. A fully developed fuel cell technology did not exist when ASKO launched this project, nor was there any mass production of such vehicles.

Yara planning 500 kton/year green ammonia project in Norway

Leading fertilizer company Yara plans to electrify fully its ammonia plant in Porsgrunn, Norway with the potential to cut 800,000 tonnes of CO 2 per year, equivalent to the emissions from 300,000 passenger cars. In 2019, the company partnered with Nel to test Nel’s new prototype water electrolyzer technology at Porsgrunn.

Volvo Receives Order for Twelve 7700 Hybrid Buses in Norway

The operator company Nettbuss has ordered 12 hybrid buses from Volvo Buses for service in Norway, thereby becoming the first company in the Nordic region to implement the hybrid technology commercially. kWh Li-ion battery pack is roof-mounted and water-cooled. The hybrid buses reduce fuel consumption by as much as 30%.

Johnson Matthey and Hystar in strategic green hydrogen partnership
