The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (Auto Alliance) is strongly supporting the passage of Maryland’s SB 1234 , a bill that would require the State of Maryland to purchase zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) for state fleets. Maryland is one of nine states that has adopted California’s ZEV Mandate. —Auto Alliance.

New Flyer of America unveiled the Xcelsior AV automated transit bus, now in motion at Robotic Research, LLC in Maryland. Its testing facilities are located in Gaithersburg and Clarksburg, Maryland. Xcelsior AV capabilities are made possible by two primary technologies.

Exelon’s utilities, which serve approximately 10 million customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania through its Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco subsidiaries, will electrify 30% of their vehicle fleet by 2025, increasing to 50% by 2030.

If adopted, the ACC II regulation would require automobile manufacturers to increase their zero-emission sales of light-duty vehicles to 100% by 2035. The states of Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, and Rhode Island have already begun the process and are expected to adopt the regulations in 2023, according to ChargEVC.
