Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has signed two pieces of legislation that promote the use of natural gas, electric or other alternative-fueled vehicles in the Commonwealth. He also signed a new executive order setting out the state alternative fuel plan required by House Bill 2282.

Seamus O’Regan, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, announced a $770,000-investment to help Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro build 28 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the province. Unitrans, the University of California, Davis transit system, has purchased six Xcelsior CHARGE battery-electric, forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses from NFI subsidiary New Flyer of America Inc. NFI’s New Flyer was selected by DGS as an approved supplier of electric vehicles in 2019.
