The results showed that just more than 70% of ride-hailing trips were completed in Asia alone, with the next biggest markets being North America and Latin America, with only 5% of trips being completed in Western Europe due to stricter regulation.

China’s output of cathode active materials increased more than four times between 2018 and 2022. The country is set to extend its lead due in part to a surge in large-scale cathode projects. China’s EV demand is less driven by range anxiety as in North America and Europe, leading to a lower demand for high-energy cathodes such as NCM.
