Lyft commits to 100% EVs by 2030

Although the upfront cost of EVs today is higher than gas-powered cars, EVs have lower fuel and maintenance costs that mean lower costs for drivers over the life of the vehicle. Lyft said that drivers renting cars through Express Drive currently save an average of $50-70 per week on fuel costs alone.

Daimler Buses to bring BEV and fuel cell buses to production standard and on the road by 2018

Daimler Buses said it plans to bring both the battery-electric Citaro E-CELL and the hydrogen-driven Citaro F-CELL to production standard and on the roads by 2018. A modular approach not only reduces direct vehicle costs but also the amount spent on repairs and maintenance. The two buses are based on a joint E-Mobility platform.

Hyundai Motor to establish hydrogen refueling station for fuel cell electric buses at Incheon Airport with partners, provide buses

Hyundai will support the construction cost of the hydrogen refueling station while providing up to 12 fuel cell electric buses as well as their maintenance and service. The company first introduced its fuel cell electric buses for daily operation during the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Proterra beats out BYD for Mineta San José International Airport electric bus contract; 10 Proterra electric buses to be in service by late 2018

UPS/Greenbiz study identifies motivators and barriers to electric fleets
