Toshiba, Sojitz and CBMM partner to commercialize next-generation Li-ion batteries with NTO anodes

Toshiba Corporation, Sojitz Corporation, and CBMM have entered into a joint development agreement for the commercialization of next generation lithium-ion batteries using niobium titanium oxide (NTO) as the anode material. In June 2018, the three companies entered into a joint agreement to develop NTO’s potential as an anode material.

Einride’s cab-less, autonomous electric truck in commercial operations on public road in Sweden

In November 2018, the Swedish startup Einride and leading logistics firm DB Schenker initiated the first installation of an autonomous, all-electric truck or “T-pod” at a DB Schenker facility in Jönköping, Sweden.

Momentum Dynamics installs second 200 kW wireless charging system for electric buses

The system—its second in the US ( earlier post )—is installed inside the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) Shuttle Park and automatically charges while loading and unloading passengers. Momentum’s wireless charger is UL field certified and became operational on 26 June 2018.

First cargo vessel operating on hydrogen to debut in Paris; commercial river operations this year

The European innovation project Flagships will deploy the world’s first commercial cargo transport vessel operating on hydrogen, plying the river Seine in Paris. Commercial operations are set to commence in 2021. The company is currently developing a new business for urban distribution with transport vessels in the Paris area.
