Siemens and Cummins partner to provide diesel-electric EPA Tier 4 passenger rail locomotives in US

Siemens Rail Systems and Cummins are partnering to bring EPA Tier 4 compliant locomotives to market. Without exhaust aftertreatment, the QSK95 engine meets Tier 3 locomotive emissions. Under the agreement, Cummins QSK95 diesel engines will be used in Siemens’ diesel electric locomotives in the US.

Updated Volkswagen 2017 e-Golf EPA-rated at 125 miles, 119 MPGe combined; pricing to come

In the US, Volkswagen’s updated 2017 e-Golf now carries an an EPA-estimated range of 125 miles—a 50% increase over the previous model year. The 2017 e-Golf runs zero to 60 mph faster than its predecessor—now in 9.6 seconds—and its top speed increases to 93 mph.

Audi introduces 2022 e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT; US pricing starts at $99,900

This allows the e-tron GT to repeatedly accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds on the way to a top track speed of 152 mph. As a result, the RS e-tron GT can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a 155 mph top track speed. EPA estimates are not yet available. kWh/100 km (NEDC).
