Archer Aviation landed a $215-million equity investment from industry leaders Stellantis, Boeing and United Airlines, as well as other financial institutions, including ARK Invest, increasing the company’s total funding to more than $1.1 billion to date. This investment round includes an acceleration of $70 million from Stellantis under the strategic funding agreement entered into in January 2023, with $55 million remaining available under that facility.
Kia is recalling certain Niro hybrid and plug-in hybrid models due to an issue that could cause engine compartment fires. MAHLE engineers have developed a bio-inspired structure for cooling channels in a battery cooling plate that significantly improves the thermodynamic performance and structural-mechanical properties of the cooling plate. Ford learned from a supplier that a security researcher discovered a vulnerability in the Wi-Fi software driver supplied for use in the SYNC 3 infotainment system available on some Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Ford said that immediately, and in collaboration with them, it began developing and validating measures to address the vulnerability.

The Kia Niro Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid are being recalled for an issue that could cause fires in the engine compartment. A total of 121,411 vehicles are involved in the recall, which relates to the printed circuit board in the hydraulic clutch actuator. Niro Hybrid from 2017 through 2022 and PHEV models from 2018 through 2022 are involved. Recall documentation states that the circuit board could become contaminated with fluid, which could cause a short and lead to a fire.
