There is no strong advocacy for methanol (unlike ethanol) as a transportation fuel; therefore, they said, it has been displaced by ethanol as oxygenate of choice in gasoline blends. The toxicity (mortality) is comparable to or better than gasoline. It is a safe fuel. Vehicle use and optimization.

All the commercially available freeway-capable (70 mph) EVs are priced way out of reach for the average consumer. The Saturn came up a distant second, but everyone agreed that the Civic was the best.

Little seems developed in any wide commercial sense and certainly not to the extent of the pure electric car. The Honda FCX Clarity FCEV and the Toyota Mirai FCEV, both use an electric drive motor and a battery pack. It is important to realize that a fuel cell car is actually an electric car.
