Total greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union (EU) decreased by 3.8% The official data, submitted on behalf of the EU to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), show that EU Member States managed to reduce collectively their emissions by 3.8% from 2018 to 2019.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its 30 th annual Inventory of US Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHG Inventory), which presents a national-level overview of annual greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 to 2021. In 2021, US greenhouse gas emissions totaled 6,340.2 of US greenhouse gas emissions in 2021.
