The Washington state legislature held a public hearing on Clean Cars 2030, a bill reintroduced with 27 co-sponsors. The bill, HB 1204 / SB 5256 , requires all model year 2030 or later passenger and light-duty vehicles sold in Washington State to be electric. a transition strategy for those negatively impacted by the requirement.

For consideration as a qualifying fuel, the waste-derived biofuel must yield a 50% greenhouse gas reduction threshold required in the Massachusetts law as determined by a preliminary analysis based on both CARB and EPA methodologies. The Clean Energy Biofuels Act. Governor Patrick signed the Clean Energy Biofuels Act on 28 July 2008.

Massachusetts Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Ian Bowles has set the statewide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions limit for 2020 required by the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2008 at 25% below 1990 levels, the maximum authorized by the Act, saying that measures already in place will get Massachusetts much of the way toward that goal.

Climate XChange, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Massachusetts, is raffling off a Tesla Model S or X valued at $110,450 on 31 December with the intention of raising awareness of carbon pricing in a push for economy-wide carbon pricing in the Commonwealth. Only 2,000 tickets are being sold.

Washington state offers tax credits for up to 50% of the costs of equipment and related costs.

Designed to promote the use of Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEV) and related clean vehicle technologies, the CVRP is a consumer incentive made available in addition to a $2,500 Federal Tax credit.
