Minnesota has become the latest state to adopt California clean car standards; the new standards were finalized by a notice in the state register on Monday. The policy will implement two clean cars standards to reduce vehicle emissions. The rule only applies to new light- and medium-duty vehicles for sale in Minnesota.

The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) intends to issue ( DE-FOA-0002865 ) a funding opportunity announcement (DE-FOA-0002864) to invest in the next-generation materials and manufacturing technologies. EERE plans to issue the FOA via EERE Exchange in November 2022.

The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) and the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board (AQCB) have each adopted the Clean Car Rule after a joint public hearing. Their independent approval of the Clean Car Rule allows California’s Advanced Clean Cars to be implemented statewide in New Mexico beginning 1 July 2022.
