Swytch, makers of the self-proclaimed “most affordable” electric bike conversion kits out there, announced its newest model this morning. The UK-based company’s new Swytch GO kit comes with a super low pre-order price of just £299 (or US $349 for North American customers), though there’s a bit of a catch.

The Blue Oval discounted some Mach-E variants by more than $8,000, pushing sales by 86 percent in the first quarter of 2024. Incentives are nothing new, and they don’t necessarily point to problems with Mach-E demand.

In a new report , Navigant Research forecasts that global annual sales of e-bicycles will grow modestly from 31.7 million e-bicycle sales this year under the base scenario, representing 91% of the total global market. This growth in demand is expected to result in revenue for global e-bicycle sales of $13.5 billion by 2023.
