Electric concepts like the E-Fuso from Daimler Trucks have helped advance commercial truck EV toward production. As they grow more and more popular among consumers, it raises a question.

Citroën unveiled a new all-electric concept car called oli , an exercise in weight reduction and resource usage. With speed limited to 110 km/h (68 mph) and acceleration close to the classic 2CV model, the concept car gains a wider range and significantly improved battery lifespan.

Making its European show debut in Geneva, the Honda NueV ( earlier post ) is a pure-electric concept car with a unique ownership proposition and a state-of-the-art ‘emotion engine’ that can learn about its driver. The scooter concept is inspired by Honda’s original scooter of the same name launched in the 1970s.

There were no recharging stations, so batteries needed to be replaced much more often. These components are much less dense than Li-ion, have a shorter lifespan, and must be recharged more often. The roomy Model S luxury sedan now starts at about $90,000 with a 100 kWh battery pack and all-wheel drive, offering 405 miles of range. The Model 3 its affordable ($35,000 as it was originally advertised, though most have sold for more), smaller model changed everything. Tesla’s Model Y–everyone’s favorite.

The Robust Affordable Next Generation EV-Storage (RANGE) program’s goal is to enable a 3X increase in electric vehicle range (from ~80 to ~240 miles per charge) with a simultaneous price reduction of > 1/3 (to ~ $30,000). The concept expresses a potential styling direction for Honda’s next-generation fuel-cell vehicle anticipated to launch in the US and Japan in 2015, followed by Europe.
