The biogasoline conforms to the global EN228 standard for gasoline, meaning that it’s a straightforward replacement for normal pump fuel. Any Bentley ever built will run as powerfully and smoothly on the second-generation biofuel as it does on normal pump gasoline, while dramatically reducing its carbon footprint.

In a paper being presented at WCX SAE World Congress Experience in Detroit this week, a team from MIT is proposing the use of a flex-fuel gasoline-alcohol engine approach for a series-hybrid powertrain for long-haul Class 8 trucks. We think that the way to enable the use of electricity in these vehicles is with a plug-in hybrid.

Jaguar Land Rover is expanding its Ingenium engine family with a new six-cylinder gasoline engine designed and engineered in-house, and manufactured at its £1-billion Engine Manufacturing Centre (EMC) in Wolverhampton, UK. The new Ingenium engine will be manufactured alongside the current four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.

The engine of the quasi-monovalent drive system is powered primarily with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), but can also run on gasoline. The Golf TGI is also equipped with a gasoline tank with a useful capacity of 9 liters (2.4 Driving in CNG mode produces around 25% fewer carbon emissions than with gasoline.
