Four different architectures of Li-air batteries, which all assume the use of lithium metal as the anode. IBM and its partners have launched a multi-year research initiative exploring rechargeable Li-air systems: The Battery 500 Project. They will serve as guidelines for the research to be carried out on Li-air systems.
