The national companies have joined the global electric vehicles initiative EV100 which aims to make electric transport the new normal by 2030. The company already operates the largest electric vehicle fleet in the country and will switch more than 9,000 vehicles to electric as part of EV100.

The first zero-emissions electric school buses in the state of Texas were recently received by Everman Independent School District. The three buses, manufactured by Blue Bird Corporation, started transporting students this school year. Blue Bird now has more than 300 electric school bus units already delivered or on order.

More than 100 electric school buses, powered by a Cummins fully electric drivetrain, have been ordered to date from Blue Bird Corporation, a school bus manufacturer highly focused on alternative fuel technologies. Blue Bird electric buses are already operating in California, North Dakota and Washington.

Mercedes-Benz is switching to a more powerful generation of lithium-ion batteries in its electric buses ( earlier post ). The first eCitaro G articulated buses have now been delivered to Hanover’s transport operator, ÜSTRA. The fully electric eCitaro G buses have four double-width doors to ensure rapid passenger flow at the bus stops.
