At the Chicago Auto Show, Ram has released a first look at the production version of its upcoming fully electric pickup truck, to be called Ram 1500 REV. The very limited preview, for now, comes in the form of two photos that show badges and front-end styling. More details are set to come on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 12, Ram said. In teaser photos.

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander made its world premiere before the opening day of the Chicago Auto Show. It is available in three powertrains across three grades: the 2.4L turbo gas engine, the 2.5L hybrid with a manufacturer-estimated 34 combined MPG, and the 362 hp Hybrid MAX. There is definitely a need in the market for a midsize-SUV that prioritizes interior comfort in all three rows and Grand Highlander is the ultimate option.

Testing by TU Graz, commissioned by environmental NGO Transport & Environment (T&E), has found that the newest generation of PHEVs emit significantly more CO 2 than claimed on city and commuter routes. Two years ago, T&E found the technology polluted significantly more than advertised on longer routes. The NGP says the new tests confirm that lawmakers should base taxes for PHEVs on their actual pollution and stop subsidizing their sale.

Lucid announced Thursday that it’s offering a $7,500 “EV credit” on select configurations of the Air Touring and Air Grand Touring—if they’re ordered by March 31, 2023. Polar Lithium, a collaboration between Nornickel and Rosatom’s mining division, has been awarded the exclusive right to develop Kolmozerskoye, Russia’s largest lithium deposit. ( Earlier post.) The project, located in the country’s northwest Murmansk Region, will produce 45,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate and hydroxide per year. The Kolmozerskoye deposit is characterized by a complex composition of rare metal raw materials and is a source of lithium, tantalum, niobium, beryllium, tin and cesium.
