Ford Performance is offering the “ Eluminator Mac E Electric Motor ” as an electric crate engine, along with the dozens of combustion crate engines available. The Eluminator, which carries a price of $3,900, is from the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT. Specs include: Peak power: 210 kW (281 hp). Peak torque: 430 N·m (317 lb/ft). Max speed: 13,800rpm. Gear ratio: 9.05:1.

As it undertakes a massive recall of Chevrolet Bolt EV electric cars due to alleged defects in battery cells, General Motors is talking up the benefits of multiple battery suppliers for future EV production. In an interview with Bloomberg released Thursday, GM CEO Mary Barra indicated the automaker would continue using LG as a battery supplier.

Researchers at the University of Delaware have shown that ruthenium deposited on titania is an active and selective catalyst for breaking down polypropylene into valuable lubricant-range hydrocarbons with narrow molecular weight distribution and low methane formation at low temperatures of 250 °C with a modest H 2 pressure. They were able to convert amorphous polypropylene and everyday bags and bottles effectively to lubricants with yields up to 80+%.

The electric vehicle maker Rivian confirmed Friday that it is planning to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) this fall, aiming for a valuation roughly 350 times that of Tesla’s IPO in 2010. Rivian confirmed Friday that it has submitted its S-1 registration to the U.S. SEC. Bloomberg noted that Rivian would seek roughly an $80 billion.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s (SFMTA) Municipal Railway (Muni) has awarded a contract to ElDorado for 30 electric hybrid E-Z Rider II model heavy-duty 30-foot transit buses, which will feature the Allison H 40 EP hybrid propulsion system. Allison Transmission’s H 40/50 EP Series is a two-mode parallel hybrid transmission that has been proven to be a dependable and efficient system for buses and coaches.

Hyundai plans to host a "global forum" called Hydrogen Wave on September 7, with the goal of showcasing next-generation fuel-cell systems, and promoting different uses for fuel-cell tech. The online event will present Hyundai's "vision for a future hydrogen society," according to a company press release. Hyundai said it will showcase fuel-cell.

Tesla has a number of programs that have the potential to change markets, and one of these is arguably the 4680 cells. Created using a dry electrode process and optimized for price and efficiency, the 4680 batteries could very well be the key to Tesla’s possible invasion of the mainstream auto and energy market. If Tesla pulls off its 4680 production ramp, its place at the summit of the sustainable energy market would be all but ensured.

XL Fleet Corp. is now offering its hybrid electric drive system for Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy duty pickup trucks. The XLH system represents the company’s first electrification product to be available for Ram Commercial, Stellantis’ line of commercial pickup trucks. XL Fleet’s newest product represents the fourth OEM platform on which its electrification systems are compatible, which also includes hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric drive solutions for Ford, General Motors and Isuzu fleet vehicles.

Faurecia, one of the world’s leading automotive technology companies, recently reached an agreement with Hella to launch a public tender cash offer for all Hella shares at a price of €60 per share. The transaction represents an estimated total enterprise value of €6.7 billion (US$7.9 billion) for 100% of Hella. It has been unanimously approved by Faurecia’s Board of Directors and received the support of Hella’s management.
