Retail hydrogen-station operator True Zero reported that it has powered more than 1,000,000 zero-emission miles by fuel-cell vehicles. From 2011 to 2016, the median all-electric vehicle range in the US increased by just over 10 miles from 73 to 83.5 miles, according to figures compiled by the US Department of Energy (DOE). The staff of the California Air Resources Board (ARB) has published a downloadable tool (a macro-enabled Excel worksheet) for estimating electricity costs for battery electric bus (BEB) deployments in California. The tool estimates monthly electricity costs for BEBs that are charged at the depot or on-route. The spreadsheet allows numerous variables to be factored in for the 9 California utilities included in the tool.

Norway leads the European market for plug-in vehicles, with more than 105,000 units registered through May 2016. A recent survey of 8,000 vehicle owners in Norway by Norway’s Institute of Transport Economics found that plug-in hybrids there drive electrically with power from the grid 55% of the time (and 63% on work trips), while battery electric vehicles are driven more in total and in everyday traffic.
