California “gasoline superuser” bill advances; focusing ZEV incentives on reducing gasoline use

Phillips 66 files LCFS pathway applications for renewable gasoline, CIs from 30.9 to 63.4 gCO2e/MJ

Phillips 66 Company has applied for three California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Tier 2 fuel pathways for renewable gasoline derived from soybean oil and canola oil. Phillips 66 also filed a separate application for renewable gasoline derived from distiller’s corn oil which is processed along with soybean oil and canola oil.

Diesel will surpass gasoline as the number one transportation fuel worldwide by 2020 and continue to increase its share through 2040, according to ExxonMobil’s recently published Outlook For Energy: A View To 2040. Diesel demand accounts for 70% of the growth in demand for all transportation fuels through the forecast period to 2040.

NGVA Europe study quantifies GHG reduction of natural gas use in light- and heavy-duty vehicles compared to gasoline and diesel

NGVA Europe, the European Natural & bio Gas Vehicle Association, has published its own study about the impact on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the use of natural gas as transportation fuel. For heavy-duty applications, benefits compared to diesel are of 16% for CNG and up to 15% for LNG.
