The BMW Group presented the first BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicles in a pilot fleet that will go into service this year. The fleet of less than 100 vehicles will then be employed internationally for demonstration and trial purposes for various target groups. The BMW Group sources the individual fuel cells from the Toyota Motor Corporation.

The Customer Experience (CX) fleet from Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) consists of six heavy-duty Freightliner eCascadia and two medium-duty Freightliner eM2 106. Over a period of 22 months, 14 different customers from a range of sectors will operate the all-electric trucks within their daily transport business.

The ZEV Pledge asks governments at all levels, as well as individual departments, agencies and public sector bodies, to pledge to convert their entire owned or leased fleets, where feasible, to zero-emission vehicles. Nine national, regional, state and city-level governments signed up to Climate Group’s newly launched initiative ZEV Pledge.

ChargePoint Holdings, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network operating in North America and Europe, has acquired ViriCiti, a leading provider of electrification solutions for eBus and commercial fleets. The ViriCiti team, customer accounts and technology will become part of ChargePoint’s operations.

The three buses, manufactured by Blue Bird Corporation, started transporting students this school year. Blue Bird’s electric school buses produce zero emissions, and have fewer parts when compared with a diesel bus. Blue Bird now has more than 300 electric school bus units already delivered or on order.

Taking transportation as a whole, this new service reduces CO 2 emissions per shipment by 26%. In the city center of Freiburg, Germany, Dachser has designated the post code 79098—which encompasses parts of the city’s Altstadt, Neuburg, and Oberau districts—as an emission-free delivery area.

Chevron USA, a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, announced definitive agreements to supply fuel linked to renewable natural gas for a Walmart Inc. As part of the agreements, Walmart will provide heavy-duty trucks for Cummins to integrate with the new 15-liter natural gas engine, the X15N, which runs on compressed natural gas (CNG).
