Fifteen countries have agreed to work together toward 100% zero-emission new truck and bus sales by 2040. California recently adopted its Advanced Clean Truck rule that establishes firm sales targets for zero-emission trucks that formed the basis of the MOU ambition.

The distribution of Neste MY Renewable Diesel, produced entirely from waste and residues, has expanded to the Neste Truck network for heavy vehicles in Finland. Its properties ensure a clean combustion and reduce engine noise and local emissions.

Gaps fell between 176% (Finland), up to 287% (Poland). And now here we have data to confirm, once again, that PHEVs are not as clean as some – like Toyota, for example – might have you think. While EV and conventional fossil-fueled hybrid sales are both rising rapidly, PHEV sales have had significantly more modest sales growth.

Sales of Neste MY will begin at Neste service stations in Finland, namely Espoo Piispanmäki, Vantaa Ilmakehä, Helsinki Konala, Espoo Otaniemi, Espoo Olari and Vantaa Varisto. During January, sales of Neste MY will also expand to select Neste Truck stations for heavy traffic in Finland.

At the Clean Energy Ministerial in Washington, DC, 19-20 July, ministers reaffirmed their commitment to previously-announced targets for the deployment of electric vehicles, which the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates will create global market momentum leading to at least 20 million electric vehicles on the road worldwide by 2020.
