Mercedes-Benz has produced more than 1,000 eCitaro electric buses

More than 1,000 units of the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro low-floor electric bus have rolled off the production line in Mannheim in the nearly five years since its start of series production at the end of 2018. In 2018, the eCitaro was initially launched as a solo bus with a battery capacity of up to 243 kWh.

Moscow signs contract for 1000 KAMAZ electric buses

Moscow begins testing of the GAZelle e-City electric minibus

SUE Mosgortrans has started testing GAZelle e-City electric minibuses, produced by Russia’s GAZ. The electric bus accommodates 16 passengers, 13 of them with seats. The tests of the electric minibus will last until the end of February 2024. The NMC battery pack supports a range of 150 kilometers, according to the company.

Moscow launches its 500th electric bus; largest electric bus fleet in Europe

Moscow, Russia has launched its 500 th electric bus—a KAMAZ 6282 electric bus. The KAMAZ 6282 uses lithium-titanate batteries, and has a range of 70 km on one charge. The electric bus is charged in 6-12 minutes with ultrafast charging stations using a half-pantograph. The maximum speed is 75 km/h.

The amount of electricity consumed by plug-in electric vehicles (PEV) in the United States has nearly doubled in the last two years—from 1.44 terawatt-hours in 2018, according to the US Department of Energy (DOE). In 2018, EV accounted for 61% of all PEV electricity consumption while PHEV accounted for the remaining 39%.
