Volkswagen prices 2017 e-Golf starting at $30,495; longer range, better fuel economy, more power

is pricing the 2017 e-Golf starting at $30,495, plus $820 destination. For 2017, Volkswagen is using an updated lithium-ion battery with an increased energy capacity of 35.8 The revised battery helps increase the vehicle’s range from an EPA-estimated total range of 83 miles to 125 miles on a single charge.

Rolls-Royce’s all-electric aircraft the ‘Spirit of Innovation’ ( earlier post ) will take to the skies for the first time in the coming weeks as it works towards a world-record attempt with a target speed of 300+ mph (480+ km/h). The current speed record for an all-electric plane—set by Siemens in 2017—is 210 mph.

BMW boosts i3 and i3s batteries to 120Ah; 42.2 kWh pack almost doubles original range

Since launch in 2014, the battery capacity and range of the i3 has grown from the original 60Ah / 81 miles to 94Ah / 115 miles in 2017 and now 120Ah for 2019. When launched in 2014, the i3’s battery pack provided 60 Ah and 22.6kWh, while the second-generation battery introduced for 2017 offered a capacity of 94Ah and 33kWh.
