Chevrolet adds Trax small SUV to growing small-vehicle lineup in US

Chevrolet will add the Trax, a new small SUV, to its US portfolio. In addition to the United States, the 2015 Trax will also go on sale in China, adding the small SUV to Chevy’s two largest markets. Trax is named after a 2007 concept vehicle. Trax is Chevrolet’s seventh small-vehicle launch in less than four years.

US EPA extends E15 fuel waiver to MY 2001-2006 light-duty vehicles

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waived a limitation on selling gasoline that contains more than 10% ethanol for model year (MY) 2001 through 2006 passenger vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and light pickup trucks. On 13 October 2010, EPA had approved a waiver allowing the use of E15 for MY 2007 and newer cars and light trucks.

Canadian Study Concludes Rebates to Hybrid Buyers Not Cost-Effective for Reducing Carbon Emissions

The study finds that the rebates had a large and positive effect on the market share of hybrid vehicles, largely at the expense of intermediate cars, intermediate SUVs and some high performance compact cars. If the intention of rebate programs is to replace gas guzzlers with hybrids, they are failing.
