ONE to invest $1.6B in 20 GWh Michigan gigafactory; LFP cell production in 2024

Study finds GWP of electrolyzed hydrogen to meet ORD’s fuel needs would be 2.5x that of fossil fuels with 2020 grid mix

Phil Ansell, an aerospace engineer at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, modeled the life cycle carbon dioxide equivalent emissions of liquid hydrogen production required to meet the fuel needs of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) with today’s electric grid mix. Ansell presented his findings at AIAA Aviation 2023 in June.

DOE awards more than $7M for efforts to protect electric grid from cyber attacks on EVs and chargers

GM adds 3 acres of solar arrays in Michigan

General Motors is increasing its renewable energy use with 3 acres of new solar arrays at two Michigan facilities. The company’s processing center in Swartz Creek and engine plant in Flint will feature 150 kW ground-mount solar arrays expected to generate a combined 400,000 kWh of renewable energy per year to the facilities’ grids.
