Africa can produce 50 million tons of green hydrogen a year by 2035, according to a new study by the European Investment Bank (EIB), International Solar Alliance and the African Union, with the support of the Government of Mauritania, HyDeal and UCLG Africa. Green hydrogen is economically viable at €2/kg and can accelerate low-carbon economic growth across continent and reduce emissions by 40%.

SAE International has published the first Technical Information Report (TIR) that specifies, in a single document, both the electric vehicle- and ground-system requirements for heavy-duty (HD) wireless charging of electric vehicles (EV). SAE TIR J2954/2 Wireless Power Transfer & Alignment for Heavy Duty Applications helps pave the way for charging HD vehicles without the need for plugging in—widely considered to be a key enabler for accelerating the adoption of EVs and autonomous vehicles.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) on Tuesday said it would buy only electric delivery vehicles from 2026 on, an about-face from the agency's original plan to continue with internal-combustion powertrains for most of its next-generation fleet. The USPS plans to acquire 106,000 vehicles between now and 2028, of which at least 66,000 vehicles.
