Comment on Nio's William Li asks potential Tesla Model Y buyers to wait for Alps' 1st model by John Hanna

CN EV Post

i guess we can stop wondering when Apple will make its long-in-development blended EV/FSD/AI appearance. Maybe some of the NEV/HEV/PHEV/BEV etc, start-ups , not to mention some legacy automakers trying to get a grip on EVs without dropping ICE, should contemplate their chances of success in the context of Apple's " too hard; not profitable enough" bowing out of the competitive landscape.

Electrek

Thanks to electric bikes, more people than ever before are discovering the joys of car-free living. Many others find that they can at least leave their car in the garage more often, using an e-bike instead for many of their around-the-town trips and errands. But when the weather is cold, e-bikes can sometimes feel less enticing. For anyone who has dreaded the rude awakening of cold air in your face, I think I might have found a trick that can help: swapping a typical bike helmet for.

@LuxRes In reply to LuxRes. I'm having trouble understanding the economic rationale for a car company like NIo - that has never made a profit-generating vehicle - to decide now is the time - with debt up to its eyeballs - to make a foray into producing a car that sells for much less than the ones they're already losing a lot of money on. Investment like EV-Tech paves the way of cost control in the long run. Li Auto's EREV was cost efficient than BEV because EREV was standing on the legacy of ICE supply chain. There are enough cheap and reliable OEM suppliers in ICE supply chain. Li Auto can easily control the R&D risk and production cost as long as it can maintain the sales volume.

Comment on Tesla sells 60,365 China-made cars in Feb, down 15.5% from Jan by John Hanna

CN EV Post

Headline? An apparently negative message focussed on Tesla. Reality? The message applies to every major EV maker in China, and thus not negative at all. Eventually you find reality in the *last line of the 2nd-last para*.: "China's major EV makers generally saw sales decline in February". In other words the "possible" explanation offered early, was in fact established with certainty as having the same impact on all companies doing what Tesla does.
