Volkswagen Group continues switch to low-emission logistics with order for four more LNG ships

Volkswagen is the first automaker to transport most of its new vehicles overseas using low-emission LNG ships. The further decarbonization of shipping will result in substantial CO 2 reductions, with the use of liquid natural gas enabling Volkswagen to cut the ships’ CO 2 emissions by up to 25% percent (tank-to-wake).

VERBIO begins production of biomethane from corn stover in Iowa; first-large scale plant in US

The plant will generate biomethane from corn stover (maize straw), and is the first large-scale commercial plant in the US to use the technology developed by VERBIO. VERBIO’s technology produces RNG from pure cellulosic material, such as corn stover or wheat straw. This turns driving vehicles into a form of climate protection.

Alcoa to supply sustainable, low-carbon aluminum for wheels on Audi e-tron GT

As part of a pilot project, Audi is procuring 20-inch wheels for the Audi e-tron GT electric car that are made from low-CO 2 emission aluminum supplied by Alcoa to RONAL GROUP, the wheel’s manufacturer.
