Provisional agreement reached on European CO2 standards for heavy-duty trucks; 30% lower by 2030

The European Parliament and the Council have reached provisional agreement on a regulation setting, for the first time in the EU, strict CO 2 emission standards for trucks. The deal follows an agreement reached in December on new CO 2 emission standards for cars and light vans in the EU for the period after 2020. —Erik Jonnaert.

California ARB approves ACC II rule; 100% of LDVs to be PHEVS, ZEV by 2035; LEV IV emissions requirements

California Air Resources Board readopts Low Carbon Fuel Standard, adopts regulation on alternative diesel fuels

The Air Resources Board re-adopted a Low Carbon Fuel Standard ( LCFS ), which requires a 10% reduction by 2020 in the carbon intensity of transportation fuels. The regulation puts in place a three-step process beginning in 2016 to create a path to bring cleaner diesel substitutes into the market.

Mayor of London backs diesel car scrappage scheme; London ranked 9th best world city in new air quality study
