Mitsubishi Corporation is a wide-ranging conglomerate that does include oil and gas businesses, and it owns 20% of Mitsubishi Motors, but Nissan actually owns more of Mitsubishi Motors. American Honda Motor declined to comment to Green Car Reports from a U.S. on the private-vehicle front.

While they had to backpedal on misstated gas-mileage figures over the last couple of years, Hyundai and Kia are moving forward with ambitious green-car plans regardless. The corporately-conjoined Korean carmakers are aiming for the global number two slot in green vehicles by 2020 (after hybrid powerhouse Toyota, presumably).

Volvo Car Corporation delivered 15 Volvo C30 Electric cars ( earlier post ) to the Shanghai International Automotive City Group (SIAC) for its open road test-drive project EV100 Days. Separately, the C30 Electric was also awarded “Green Car of the Year” in China at the 4 th China New Energy Mobility Summit.

Volvo Cars was named the best car make in Sustainable Brands, Sweden’s biggest sustainability survey for various brands. The survey follows the UN’s Global Compact , which in turn is founded on ten principles that relate to corporate responsibility. Volvo accounts for 21% of green cars sold in Sweden.
