The city of Moscow, Russia is halting the purchase of diesel buses for its passenger transport fleet. Starting this year, by the decision of the Mayor of Moscow, we will not buy diesel buses, except for transportation in a special mode. —Makim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport. The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (Trinity Metro) has awarded New Flyer a contract for four heavy-duty, thirty-five-foot Xcelsior CHARGE battery-electric buses. The bus showcased reduced air and noise pollution, and enhancements such as wood-like floors and USB charge ports for passengers.

Fuels produced from the facility will result in significant reductions of both greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and local air pollutants such as particulate matter. The blended fuel will reduce the overall GHG emissions and other harmful local pollutants in the San Joaquin Valley and elsewhere in California.

Each year, the fleet transports approximately 600,000 students across Harvard’s campus and the transition to electric is expected to lower greenhouse gas emissions by more than 220,000 pounds annually. Harmful air pollutants will also be reduced providing health benefits to local communities.

Over the next 4 years, the city authorities are going to purhase 2675 more units of e-transport; Moscow expects that by 2032, all the urban transport will have been converted to the electric traction. Starting this year we are going to buy the e-buses only—we seek to make our city as clean and harmless for its citizens as we can.
