The number of hydrogen stations deployed globally has surpassed the 1,000-mark, according to a study by Information Trends. China represents roughly one-third of global deployments, but the US lags far behind with less than 100 hydrogen stations. Another four Asia-Pacific countries have also deployed hydrogen stations.

Australia-based hydrogen fuel cell vehicle company H2X Global recently secured a US$57-million deal with US-based firm, Verde Mobility Inc., to fastrack H2X’s delivery of 800 hydrogen-powered vehicles. The Verde agreement paves the way for us to fast-track the launch of our fully developed Darling van.

Fortescue Metals Group and ATCO Australia have signed an agreement to explore the deployment of hydrogen vehicle fueling infrastructure in Western Australia. The project will serve as a showcase for hydrogen mobility in WA and support the transition to the next generation of zero-emission transport.

South Korea-based SK On (SKO), a global EV battery manufacturer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Australia’s Global Lithium Resources to explore future business opportunities together in regard to stable supply of lithium. Incorporated in 2018, Global Lithium was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange last year.

LG Energy Solution (LGES) is partnering with Envirostream’s recycling branch, Lithium Australia, to recycle lithium-ion batteries. According to the company’s announcement, its partnership could position Envirostream at the forefront of the battery recycling market in Australia. LG Energy Solution warned of slow revenue growth in 2024.
