At the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show in December, Audi of America announced the significant expansion of its diesel model line-up with the addition of A8, A7, A6, and Q5 TDI diesel models to the Q7 and A3 TDI already on sale in the US. The new TT and TTS models will be available with three different four-cylinder engines with turbocharging and direct injection. TDI diesel will be available with manual shift and front-wheel drive.

Each TDI vehicle delivers up to 30% better fuel economy and 30% lower carbon dioxide emissions than gasoline engines.
