DHL intends to intensify its transition to heavy electric trucks by deploying a total of 44 new electric Volvo trucks on routes in Europe. The intended order includes 40 electric trucks of the model Volvo FE and Volvo FL, to be used for package deliveries in urban transports.

DriveNow, the carsharing joint venture between the BMW Group and Sixt SE ( earlier post ), has launched its flexible carsharing service in London. DriveNow furthermore intends to add 30 all-electric BMW i3 cars to the London fleet in spring 2015, expanding it to a total of 300 vehicles during the course of next year.

Global logistics provider DHL and Volvo Trucks announced today the signing of a cooperation agreement for an intended order of 40 Volvo FE and FL all-electric trucks to be used for regional hauling and package deliveries. It was the first fully-electric commercial heavy truck used for urban logistics in the United Kingdom.
