The average annual price of gasoline has fluctuated greatly over the past several decades, but when adjusted for inflation (constant dollars), the price of gasoline in 2019 was only nine cents higher than in 1929, according to the US Department of Energy (DOE). The graph below shows the effect of the oil embargo in the early 1980s.

The FCA vehicles and model years (MY) involved in the settlement include MY 2012 through 2018 Ram 1500, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles, equipped with 5.7L gasoline engines. This is the second enforcement action against FCA in the past four years.

Fiat-Chrysler of America (FCA) will recall more than 850,000 gasoline-powered passenger cars and SUVs due to a problem with their catalytic converters. 2011-2012 MY Dodge Caliber (PM FWD CVT). 2012: Q2 2019.
