General Motors and DTE Energy partner on 800 kW solar array

General Motors is partnering with DTE Energy to build a new 800-kilowatt solar array at its Warren Transmission plant that will be GM’s largest solar installation in Michigan. The 2,800 solar panels will generate clean electricity that will go back to the grid. DTE Energy will own the array on 4.25 acres of land leased from GM.

GM and Glencore enter multi-year cobalt supply agreement

Glencore and General Motors announced a multi-year sourcing agreement in which Glencore will supply GM with cobalt from its Murrin Murrin operation in Australia. Once the nickel and cobalt have been leached and are in soluble form, they must be separated from the residue waste material.
