Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility’s fleet of XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks has collectively exceeded 1 million kilometers of driving in 11 months of service in Switzerland. Electrofuels provider Infinium announced an agreement with Amazon to begin using Infinium Electrofuels in the retailer’s middle mile fleet as an ultra-low carbon alternative to traditional fossil fuels. The clean burning electrofuels will be produced for Amazon at one of the first electrofuels production facilities, located in Texas.

This analysis found the following: Commercial Trucks: 76% of the approximately 15 million commercial trucks (Class 3-8) that make up the nation’s fleet run on diesel. Of those, the newest generation of advanced diesel technology models now account for 53% of that fleet. Electric and other categories each register less than 1%.

SWISS will equip its entire Boeing long-haul fleet with fuel-saving AeroSHARK surface technology ( earlier post ). The significantly reduced frictional resistance resulting from this modification will make the sub-fleet more than one percent more fuel-efficient and lower in emissions.

AJR Trucking , a leading carrier for the United States Postal Service (USPS) and a major drayage carrier operating in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, has executed a purchase order for 50 Nikola Tre hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) trucks from Tom’s Truck Centers, a member of the Nikola Corporation sales and service dealer network.

Air Products and Cummins signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to work together to accelerate the integration of hydrogen fuel cell trucks in the Americas, Europe and Asia. We are pleased to be working with Cummins to achieve our fleet transition goals. Cummins and Air Products expect the demonstration phase to begin in 2022.

The BMW Group presented the first BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicles in a pilot fleet that will go into service this year. The fleet of less than 100 vehicles will then be employed internationally for demonstration and trial purposes for various target groups. The BMW Group sources the individual fuel cells from the Toyota Motor Corporation.
