WinGD and HSD Engine collaborate to deliver methanol-fueled two-stroke engines

Swiss marine power company WinGD and Korean engine builder HSD Engine have initiated a Joint Development Project (JDP) to advance the development of WinGD’s methanol-fueled big-bore engines. Under the JDP, WinGD will oversee combustion and injection research, exhaust aftertreatment requirements and engine concept design.

Switzerland killed study proving upgrading to an electric car is good for the environment

Swiss team finds particle emissions from aircraft turbine engines at ground-idle induce oxidative stress in bronchial cells

In a study on the effect of exhaust particles from aircraft turbine engines on human lung cells, Swiss researchers have found that cells reacted most strongly to particles emitted during ground idling. The study also showed that the cytotoxic effect is only to some extent comparable to that of particles from gasoline and diesel engines.
