Tesla’s Superchargers are now opening to Rivian vehicles, following the addition of Ford to the charging network just a few weeks ago. Last week, Rivian deployed software update 2024.07.02 , with the release notes saying that Superchargers would soon be opening up to Rivian vehicles. On Monday, Rivian officially announced on X and in a press release that its vehicles can now access Tesla’s more than 15,000 Supercharger stalls in the U.S. and Canada.

Today we go back to Italy for this 1995 Alfa Romeo 164 Quadrifoglio. This one is a high-mileage example with almost 230K on the clock. The engine has been rebuilt, the five-speed manual transmission has been replaced, and the clutch is new. The steering-rack mounts are also new and the brakes, suspension, and driveshafts have been rebuilt. Our seller also reupholstered the interior, refurbished the wheels, repainted the car, and added new tires.

@Augustus Meyer In reply to Augustus Meyer. I have thought about this too, and I think you are mostly right. Mercedes even sells vans and heavy trucks under the same brand. Selling cheap cars under NIO's good reputation would be easier and stand out amongst other cheap crappy Chinese cars coming to Europe. On the other hand, having luxurious NIO houses and NIO Spaces will probably not work well together with cheaper mass volume cars, it could bring down the entire concept of it being premium.

For Europe, at least, having different brands will be the wrong strategy. Look at Mercedes, BMW or AUDI: Only Mercedes has a very high class separate brand (Maybach), but in general, all the brands mentioned have entry class cars and top level types. In addition, because of fierce competition, it would be a marketing advantage, in case an entry level car buyer could think/say: I have a NIO.
