In a further extension of Ricard’s collaboration with the Lifan Automobile Group based in Chongqing, China, the company will assist in the development of a new turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine. With work on the project starting in July, the first engines are due for production in late 2014.

Rheinmetall Automotive AG, part of technology group Rheinmetall AG, has received a major order from an international OEM for electrical vacuum pumps. Especially for today’s downsized gasoline engines, the electric pumps are also useful since they always guarantee an adequate vacuum level, for example for boosting braking power.
